TOWN HALL TOMORROW: Tuesday, November 29, 2:00pm and 8:15pm, Kogod Room 118. What changes to the MBA program would you like to see happen? What are your thoughts on the total number of MBA program credit hours? On the core classes? On the concentration offerings? The Academic Task Force will present their ideas. Then, they want your feedback. It's your MBA program. Tell them what you want. Join your fellow graduate students for the Town Hall. Both Town Hall meetings will be in Kogod Room 118.

MIS Prep

MIS PREP: Are you taking ITEC-616 Management Information Systems in the Spring 2006 semester? The officers of the MoGIT club will host office hours in Breakout Room A on Tuesday, November 29th from 2:30pm to 5:00pm to answer your questions about the ITEC-616 course. This is a great opportunity to benefit from the experience and knowledge of 2nd year students who have taken this course and who are well-versed on the value of the MoGIT concentration and courses. They will be able to answer your questions related to: Types of projects, IT knowledge needed for the consulting project, and best strategies for managing the work for the project (group and client). INFORMATION SESSIONS FOR THE RUSSIA STUDY TOUR: The annual IBUS 744 study tour planning is under way! This year’s course will take students to Helsinki, St. Petersburg, and Moscow. At this session we will discuss the details of the course and tour.

Reminder: Free Blackberry 7100ts Available for all Kogod Graduate Students

In partnership with T-Mobile, the Kogod School of Business is making the Blackberry 7100t available to all graduate business students (new students and returning students) at the beginning of the Fall semester. In order to receive or keep your Blackberry 7100t, you will need to sign up for data service with T-Mobile. The Blackberry 7100t will be an important component of the Kogod Edge program where important messages and announcements will be streamed to your Blackberry 7100t from the Dean's Office, the Graduate Programs Office, the GBA and your professors.

Kogod and T-Mobile will be available this week at Kogod@8 on Wednesday evening from 7:30 until 9:00 PM and at Kogod@11 from 10:30 until noon on Thursday to assist you with signing up for T-Mobile service and to provide you with your new Blackberry 7100t.

Those of you who have already received a Blackberry 7100t and want to transfer your temporary data service to your name, please visit the T-Mobile table this week. Remember that service provided by Kogod for new students will be terminated on Friday, September 9. Those of you who opt not to transfer data service must return the Blackberry 7100t to the Graduate Programs Office by September 9.

RSS Streams: Your Kogod Information Source for 2005-2006; Win Eagle Bucks and T-Mobile products

This fall, the Kogod School of Business is changing the way it communicates with students. Important announcements and information from the Dean's Office, from Graduate Programs, from the Graduate Business Association and graduate clubs, and from your professors will be communicated via RSS streams to your desktop, laptop and Blackberry. If you want to have the latest new on job opportunities, speakers, social events, club events, breaking business news, etc, you need to read the Kogod streams.

To receive streams on your computer, go to the Kogod website and click the "RSS Streams" link on the Graphic of the Blackberry 7100t on the right hand side of the Kogod website. Then click on the link to download the Kogod RSS Reader that is appropriate for your computer. Please note that you will need to have WinZip software loaded on your computer to receive the Kogod RSS reader file which can be downloaded from AU e-operations via my.american.edu.

The Kogod RSS Reader is already loaded on the T-Mobile 7100t Blackberrys that we distributed. The reader can be found by clicking the applications toolbox on the main screen.

Prizes: We will be awarding a $200 Eagle Bucks prize for a Blackberry 7100t Kogod stream user and $100 Eagle Bucks prize for any Kogod stream user. Other winners will receive gifts from T-Mobile. To learn how to enter the drawing for these prizes and gifts you must visit the "GBA/Club News and Events" stream or the "Kogod Hotspot Launch" stream for details. While you are visiting those streams, please visit the other Kogod streams. Good Luck and Happy Streaming!

Graduating Students, Pick Up Your Graduation Tickets

Have you picked up your tickets for the Graduation Ceremony? Bring your AU ID and pick up your tickets in the Registrar's Office.

Graduating students may request up to 7 tickets. The GBA asks that you request 7 regardless of how many guests you plan to bring. Extra tickets can be submitted in the GBA office for redistribution to Kogod students that plan to bring more than 7 guests (If the GBA office is closed, simply slide the tickets under the door).

The registrar's office is open 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, and is located in the Asbury Building (adjacent to the parking garage).

Please note, you may not receive tickets until you have paid for your cap and gown.
